Professional malpractice is a case
of negligence. When a doctor, lawyer or other professional
acts below the standard of care, they should be held
accountable for their negligence.
Here is a recent case that underscores
our competence in the area of legal professional malpractice;
Shry v. Miller.
In
this professional malpractice case, Shry v.
Miller, our client, Sherry Shry
was a passenger in a friend's vehicle which went over
a drainage bump in the roadway. Suddenly the steering
of the automobile failed, causing it to plow into a
parked car. Sherry was seriously injured when she went
through the windshield. The driver of the vehicle had
minimum insurance coverage. The lawyer who handled the
case initially failed to learn that the steering mechanism
on the vehicle had been modified at a Ford dealer by
an employee who worked there and the Ford dealer had
liability coverage. The legal professional malpractice
case against the lawyer resulted in a $350,000
settlement during trial.
